Ryan are we going to still have sc trucks on the oval this year didnt see them listed. Also you listed sprints those are the sliders correct. The reason iam asking is because iam thinking about buying one this year just wont to get the right car.

Yes the Losi Slider is what the Sprint car class is. As far as SC Oval if guys want to run that as a regular class I would do that of course. I would go to spec tire though, (foam or litely threaded tire like the slider rear tires)something that works for traction and does not pull up the carpet fibers.

    Maybe something like this:

What do you think will be a good class to get into and that will have a large showing?

The biggest class that races there is COT Spec Class. Lots of fun. We are going to try and get a larger turnout for Spec Legends class also.

If you are intersted in geting into the cot pan car I have one that I would get rid of pretty cheap.

I would suggest you give Ron a call at Breakneck.

He has the largest number of racers running legends and has done testing
    of some batteries and motors.

Cumberlandrc 2011/2012 Carpet Oval Empty SC Oval Racing

Post by Lennydude Sat Sep 03, 2011 12:35 pm

Have had a chance to try out the new proposed tire for SC oval racing at CCR this winter. As you may know, The many different types of tires everyone was using was lifting the carpet fibers in the corners.

We have to be proactive to prevent the carpet from being destroyed. We were thinking that the Proline #1167 tire would work.

I installed a set on my truck. First few laps went well...........pushy and loose but controllable. I then put some traction compound on them and found them to be "hooked up". I could traction roll the truck easily.

Soooooooooo..............it looks like we can go with this tire SmileSmile

The Proline number is 1167-01 and cost about $18.00 a pair. Also, Dennis Rushlow has tried these and said they should work. Maybe he can chime in and let us know what he thinks?

Hi Lenny, are you guys running an "offroad" track indoors this winter? If so will this tire be used for that as well?

    Cheers!

    Yes and no...................lol

There will be Off Road racing on Tuesdays.
You will be able to use the same tires that you used last year on Tuesdays nights.

The Oval racing on Saturday nights is where you will be required to use the 1167 tire.

Reprint from Hobby Talk for those who do not go there..........

(SPEC TIRES ONLY) Got some very up to date news on the new BSR Spec tires that will be coming out soon. Will try to word this simply as possible.

We are now running green and blue fronts. They will both be discontinued and replaced with white and black fronts. White = Green and Black = Blue.
We are now running green and gray rears. The Green rears will be discontinued and replaced with white rears. White = Green and Gray will remain the same.

Now you must understand that there will be inventory of the discontinued colors all over. As a matter of note, BSR even plans to have blue front tires through this season and some inventory of green tires but once these are gone...........they will be gone.

I am working on getting some new packages (sets) of 4 tires, front and rear. One set would include 3 whites and 1 black and one set would include 2 whites, 1 black and 1 gray.

Will keep you up to date as time moves on. One note of interest.............the whites should be very close in grip to the greens. The black should be a bit more soft (more grip) than the blue but not as soft as the older silver.

There have been rumors about the silver front making a come back............not true.
