Re: CCR Thursday night racing
So... I'm in the middle of building my 1st sct truck for Tuesday nights and now I think I'm going to have to pick up a Mini too. Judging by the results, there was only the one that Uncle Ron posted a pic of? Give me a couple weeks, I'll go down to see Ryan in the next couple days and start building... but it will have to be on the down low or the little lady will get all sorts of twisted.
Sweet Mini by the way!

Ryan!
This one is for you! Now as long as the green doesn't blow off the body when I hit the wall at 40 because I backed it with a generic white, it will all be good!
Viva La Night Rider! Although... it does look a lot like the Bat Mobile....

Nice Paint Chris! Where have you been on Tuesday nights?
A question for you. You said you stripped a body a while back. Did you say you used break fluid? It took the paint off without damaging the lexan body? I have a stadium truck body that I want to strip and repaint and just looking for tips.

Re: CCR Thursday night racing
Todd,
I've been hiding from Jarek! Seriously though, it seems like every Tuesday night something unforeseen has come up. I'm 99% sure I'll be there this Tuesday evening though. You?
DOT 4 break fluid, dish washing gloves and paper towels or a shop cloth. I coat the inside with it, let it sit over night, then every few minutes I move / recoat the inside with the fluid in the bottom. I don't think you need to let it sit and that the continual re-coating is actually what strips it but that's just the way I did it the first time. I use some scrubby pad and an exacto when I'm done to remove any tiny bits that I may have missed.
Thanks for the compliments, the Sophia WGT body is actually the first new body I've painted.
See you on Tuesday night?
Chris

Re: CCR Thursday night racing
Hi Chris,
Thank you for the instructions. I am hoping to save the body. It has the wrong type of paint and is flaking off. I'm hoping to repaint it similar to the new truck I'll be painting.
It doesn't look like we'll be there this Tuesday. I have no truck currently (being built)and Jarek won't be able to go this week. we should both be there next week though!
See you soon!

Re: CCR Thursday night racing
Finally got the beast ready to roll - no more borrowed bodies (thanks Ryan, I owe ya). It was not easy resisting the bedliner but the silver and burgundy might be the new signature...
