2013 Triple Crown Race Series Race Dates:
Sunday May 19th
Sunday June 9th
Sunday August 4th

Entry fee $25.00 first vehicle
$10.00 each additional

The following classes will be running for the Triple Crown and points
2wd sct stock
2wd sct open
4wd sct open
1/10 stadium truck open
1/10th 4wd buggy open--New class added to series
1/10 2wd buggy open
1/8 electric open

ALL other classes will be offered that race day at regular weekly entry fee(s).

MUST HAVE 6 ENTRIES TO MAKE A CLASS! NO EXCEPTIONS
two bump up's from lower mains

A-main winners will get the following Evolution Hobbies gift certificate at each race.Classes with only six entries will only receive 1st place gift certificates only.
1st $25
2nd $20
3rd $15

Also points will be given to all places for the participating classes.

Trophies will be awarded to 1st-3rd for the most points in all classes after the third race.
Rain dates if needed will be announced at a later date.

All races will be 7-7-7 format-two seven minute heats and one seven minute main.

I heard you were getting the trophy girls! and NO Kevin you in a blonde wig and a dress will not count !

Nitro with ebuggy mix ?

No mixing of nitro and electric during "trophy" races Ray.I will mix nitro buggy and truggy if all racers in that class agree and there is at least 6 to make a class.
Weekly club type racing a different story .

How about nitro 4x4 scts not mixing them either ?

Ray same thing ,because this race is a trophy race and it list certain classes for this event.Just so you know i will be running all other race classes that day,that are not listed on the triple crown list..That includes nitros.Again need six to make a class.

Hey Sean, I get not mixing nitro and electrics because of how the classes have been listed that way for a while now for the series, but for future trophy races could you at least consider mixing? Outdoor track, and open class to me means any power plant you want. Nitro or electric. Nitro has no advantage, and probably more likely to break, flame out, or like some of us, run out of gas before the race is over! LOL. Thanks.

The problem with mixing classes during trophy races is there are more racers against than for it.That is why don't mix .In the future races like my Money Madness Race i have always offered nitro classes.Last years event i think only one or two show up.I under stand there are racers who want to run nitro.But they are the minority now and to throw them in classes just so they can run isn't right either.Considering most them have electrics.
I will say it again ,i will run nitro if enough show up to make there own class.Even this Sunday they can run but they just won't be in the Triple Crown series,it will be just a regular "club" race for them.
Larry my open class is separated electric and nitro .With each one with there own rules .
I have to say it again ,there are racers who will not run with nitros at all.So separating is the way to go.
If i had the room ,i would build a separate 1/8th /monster truck track if could .Until that time i have to do the way i am doing it.

I cant count how many times I have heard guys say I should have brought it but, didnt think there was going to be enough to run it. We wonder why there are never enough. If they would run regardless theres a good chance it would grow IMO.

Why dont people like running with nitros?

cause all they are cool they r a pain to deal with on race day and im ,y opinion takes the fun out of the day for me and I myself have 4 nitro powered rcs

I heard that a lot of times too.Even with certain electric classes ,scb would be example.

You asked why some racers won't run with nitro's ,i think its there personal preference but one comment that comes up a lot , is they consider nitro driver "erratic drivers or careless "again this is there opinion ,not mine.Also for some reason ,some racers do not like to corner marshal for them either.The other reason which was mentioned in the post before this,they can be a pain in the but on race day and cause delays because of there possible erratic behavior .Which can effect everyone's day.
These are comments that i have heard from other racers,not all racers will agree.

We are now three days away from Race#1.Please bring you AMB/Mylaps transponder(s) number with at the time of registration.Registration closes at 9:30 ,racing starts at 10am.Even if you have raced here this season already,and remember clone transponders MTX/PTX will no longer work here .Must ne amb/mylaps pt only.

Weather is looking good for Sunday! Sunny and around 60° should be a good day of racing.

Just a reminder,classes with only 6 entries in it will get 1st place gift certificate only.ALL entries will get points in that class.

Weather still looks good for tomorrow,race#1 of the Mainely Motorsports/Award Champs triple crown series.
Racing starts at 10am .registration closes at 9:30am.Please be ready when you get here.I will not be able to help anyone with repairs in the morning.
Again have your transponder number written down when you come in to register.
That track is dry ,if some of the racers who get here early could help wet the the track down ,that would be great.We are going to need to keep up on watering it as the day goes on.
