Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
Street Stock Slash will be just that. Slash 2wd trucks XL5 speedo with titan motor and 2s 5000mah lipo or NIMH batteries Slash specific bodies with all 4 shocks on the truck. Lower by fuel tubing in the shock or repositioning. We want the class to be like the minis all the equipment equal, the best driver wins. We want to keep the class as inexpensive as possible and draw beginners into racing.

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
The things you are talking about, lowering a chassis, Buying a Scalpel body (along with the bumper and probably wheel conversion), fuel tubing (breaking apart shocks)..... arent exactly things that a "beginner".........would know how to/want to do... let alone that most guys that know how to/want to do these things simply to race indoors dont own Traxxis short course trucks.... why not just limit the motor/battery/blinky mode and yes, all four shocks in it (lowered one way or the other)..... sounds pretty equal to me. You could even regulate tires, Travel (in controller)...ball diffs.... Just dont limit manufacturer to Traxxis.... I have an Sc10 and would love to run in this class. However, I dont own a Traxxis, I dont have a battery less than 5800 and who still runs brushed motors that wants to race on a regualr basis? XL5....? no offense but you are catering to the guys that dont spend any real money at your store....not the guys that spend 1,000's...(literally)...

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
First of all not my store. I'm temporarily stepping in to get racing going again locally.I do thank Ray for allowing us his facility for racing! I knew going in that i wouldn't be able to please everyone and you have proved that. I'm sticking with the classes stated to keep it affordable for most.I'm sorry you do not approve but I'm doing the best I can and will carry on.

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
I understand. Wasn't trying to be rude or disrespectful at all. I completely see your point I was just making mine. I think maybe its time to buy a mini anyway. Everyone talks about what great racing its is... Sorry if I came off unhappy. Wasn't really my intention.

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
Seeing how your new I'm not going to rip on you but I will say this, you don't need the latest and greatest most expensive doodad to race and have fun at it, street stock will be a awesome class and I hope they get a good turn out for it. Drawing new people into the hobby and FUN is the name of the game, some people are put off by the expense of a full race ready rig, like iceman has said this is on the cheap, go search rctech or fleabay slash trucks can be had cheap, judging by your post below this one you don't have a problem spending the money. If you don't like it don't race it. There's no shame in owning a slash lol, I have yet to see new people turned away bc of not knowing something, everywhere I have been there's always people willing to help, if you don't know just ask the guy next to you 9 times out of 10 they will help out as best they can

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
I understand that. Never said FUN wasn't the name of the game. Simply didnt see why it had to be Traxxis specifically.. I can put a stock motor and brushed ESC in my SC10 and its the same thing. That's was my point really.... Rip me all you want. Don't act high and mighty because I simply voiced my opinion. "Seeing that I'm new"?

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
I'm sure iceman will correct me if I'm wrong but I think they picked the slash bc of cost, parts availability, and so everyone is racing the exact same rig. High and mighty def not

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
Ok. I understand. Like I said, wasn't trying to insult or even judge. If I came off that I'm sorry. Just miss my Tueaday night SC action.. Plus yes.... I spent a lot to be able to compete at the level I wanted on Tues nights... So guess I'm just looking for a competive carpet SC class.. Ill wait till Sept.

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
i think you'll be surprised how competitive a "spec" type class can and will be, racing will be super close and I'll bet you wont see the same guy win week after week

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
John an I talked about this for a while. We wanted to keep it cheap an fun. We went with the slash because they are cheap, durable an parts are every where. We do not want to mix the class as you know a slash has a high center an all the other "rcae" trucks are low. We wanted to do a fun little spec class. I do understand you hace a sc10 an that is what I run. I the past I've run spec classes befor an they are more fun then the regular racing. This will be a work in progress please bare with us.
Thank You Ron

Re: Tuesday nights at Ray and Robins
I get it guys.. Maybe it's time I find a slash... Never thought I'd be looking for a lesser truck the mine but hey. Racing is relative to what's capable... I'd race Match boxes as long as we all have the same model. Racing is racing and whether is a $1600 SC10 or a paper sail boat in the nearest puddle.... I think I was more venting about not being to race my $1600 SC10. Lesson learned.. FYI, uncle Ron you. You are the guy I looked up to as far an SC the last few months... But come Sept I got ur ticket in SC....

Designed the track last night. Best track yet! Fast and flows nicely. Brought in the new lap counting system seems alot easier to operate. Looking forward to Tues and seeing everyone again. The track is GT freindly should save on broken front ends. I would like to thank Brian Payeur and Uncle Ron for all their help.Ron and I ran our Minis on the track, too much fun!
