Short course trucks are the most popular right now pretty much anywhere you go. 2wd stock SC is a good place to start if your new to the hobby. You have lots of choices traxxas slash, associated sc10, losi xxx-sct, and others. If you already have a Rustler the Slash may be a good choice since they share a lot of the same parts.
Come up to Casco some Sunday and check it out. Lots of fun and lots of good people.

Yeah ill deffintly make up up one of these weeks soon, possibly next week i have to work this sunday.what time do you guys run on sundays ill try to make it up next week.it's looking like im gonna go with the sc10 pro comp, unless it would be better to go with another. i figured it would be best to start off with somthing with a brushless so i have a lil less upgradeing to do.

Not a bad idea.
We start racing at 10 but you would want to be there by 9 to set up and register.

Re: Hello new to fourm
We have a race track set up at the Westbrook community center every Wednesday night at 5:30. We are not very official but we set up the track and blast around. If I get enough people I run a few heats and a main. The track in Casco is great and the people there are very helpful, so even if you stop in for an hour or so you can answer most of your questions.

Re: Hello new to fourm
Thats the problem, not to many tracks in the greater Portland area. I have the square footage to build the track out side but I need help to do it. The community center will donate the space.

Re: Hello new to fourm
Your probably the third person that has said they would help. I am going to get a more formal commitment from the community center and then i will set up a meeting for all of us to get together and start the ball rolling. I will keep you posted.
