How about running the Legends? And I know that touring cars can be very expensive and complicated but what about the "GT"1/10 scale class?

I think either gt cars or 1/12 scales..whatever you racers would prefer to run let's just decide on which and set a goal start date of something in December to give time for me to get people ready and racers to get cars built

For you that are not familiar with World GT Cars, they are 1/10 onroad pancars..here is a video link

    https://youtu.be/57EgR3o0S-I

And 1/12 scales are the also pancars just smalled with same batteries and motors..here is video link of them

    https://youtu.be/hjWAuJAh-dc

Whatever one if either you guys want to run we will keep it to 17.5 and blinky speed control, no timing...to keep it simple and cost effective

I"ve spoke with a few people regarding the World GT class. By the Sounds most of you are leaning towrds them over 1/12 scale.

The World GT (WGT) class Rules are very Simple, Any Roar Approved 1s Lipo Battery any Roar Approved 17.5 Motor, Spec WGT Tires Part Number BSRF1033GT and BSRF10346GT) we will keep them to Blinky or 0 Timing SpeedControls..

Also a couple people asked if legends cars can run the onroad...Yes of course as long as there is enough for a class!

The Shop can get one..I just got back from a Meeting tonight with guys to that will be heloing run Tuesday Night and Ray the Shop Owner. They will be stocking a kit or two plus tires also. Everthing in the Oval Pancar section is also applicable to WGT cars. I would recomend the CRC X-10 LE (Lipo Edition) Part#CLN1712..If you need help with one I'll help jut let me know!

So, I am thinking about joining the on-road program.

I need some help to point me in a direction as I have been out of pan-cars since the days of the banked ovel track on Riverside St (and at that time I ran spec class).

To start with I am going to run my RC10L from the high bank days.

What is a good brushless combo for this class? How about a starting point on gearing?

I understand that you either need to run a receiver pack or a step up tranformer to power the receiver and servo. Which is the preferred method?

What bodies are legal/competitive? I would like to run something cool (and american). I was thinking a '60's vintage trans-am look, late '70's Iroc Camaro or Covette C6-R...

Any help is very much appreciated.

I would recomend either a CRC X10 LE (Lipo Edition) or a Team Assocaite RC10r5.1 or RC10r5.. These are readily available at the shop and most parts are shared from the Oval pancars.

For Speed Control Combinations. If the Speed Control does not have a 1S BEC internally Novak sells a 1S booster which will allow any Speed Control to Power up the Receiver to 6.0V for Proper steering sevo power Or you can use a small 2s Lipo with a switch to turn off and on the car. Using a receiver pack will require charging in after everyother heat.

Bodys Any Roar Approved WGT Body, I know several of the guys will be running Dodge Viper and Ford GT500 Bodys...HPI offers several 200mm bodys..

If you can come to the Ray & Robins Hobby Center between noon and 5pm, I'll be there to talk with in person.

    THanks

I swung by the shop to talk GT cars Monday afternoon but you weren't around.

Do you have an idea of what your full time schedule is going to be? or at least the end of this week and early next week? I need to try to get back by the shop to pick up a personal transponder before Tuesday night.

Are you now going to be running the Tuesday Night off road program? Maybe we could chat before or after that...

Ok I got the Class Rules all together..

    WGT:
    Body:
    Roar Approved 200mm WGT Body
    Weight: Minimum of 32.8 Ounces
Motor: Roar Approved 17.5 (Motor no trinity D3.5's)
ESC: Any Roar approved, programable ESC's must be in spec/Blinky Mode.
    Battery: SMC 4000 MAH 25C only Part #4025S Maximum 4.22V (pre-race tech)
Receiver Packs: Maximum of 7.4V and 500 MAH
Tires: BSR purple Striped WGT tires
Traction Compound: Any Odorless compound only

To explain the Rule out of Trinity D3.5 Motors and any restickered D3.5 motor. These motors are designed to the extreme of ROAR specs and are a Dominant force in Oval race Communtity. (I run one myself.) My goal with WGT Class and Thursday Night onroad racing is to bring back the fun of Carpet onroad without the technical setups and cost of full on 4wd touring car kits. So to avoid the rush for everyone to need or feel like they will need to purchase a D3.5 I simply ruled it out.

I would recomend a Thunder Power ZR3 17.5 Motor due to its known versatility and performance. Atleast in a Oval car.haha..I plan to build a WGT in the next coming weeks and plan to run a $59.00 Duratrax 17.5
