Thinking about electric 1/8 Empty Thinking about electric 1/8

Post by sharkman Thu Jul 02, 2009 11:56 pm

I got out of nitro because I was tired of all the baggage that goes along with it.
Got a couple others hooked on electric 1/8 in my area.
Anyone else ready to make the jump???

Once you go electric you will never look back.

I let some of my friends take my 8t 2.0 out for a spin and they always hand the radio back with a big grin on their faces. Instand power and smooth thanks to tekin.

Thinking about electric 1/8 Empty lektrick!

I remember like 3 years ago I went to a big trophy race at R/C Excitement in Mass,I was running a 3.3 revo with a ton of goodies on it,I ended up winning the a-main but there was a emaxx with a brushless conversion in it that was insane! that thing would enter the last turn before the big backstrait right beside me,,it was 10 lengths ahead of me by the middle of the strait and another 10 lengths ahead at the end of the strait, luckily for me the guy had trouble trying to drive it in the rough and it didnt handle well,,but even back then it had probably 3 times the power I had!!

I actually dial alot top end out of my system as it is just too powerful. Nothing like power on demand.

I bet the new stuff is crazy power, I remember that emaxx would do a complete flip and land back on its wheels without moving forward!!

Ohhhhhh electric 1/8 scale is deffinitely the ticket!!! You cant even begin to explaine how much easyier they are to drive than a nitro! Ive had a few Novak HV systems and they do very good. They have great run times. I believe the Castle Creations Mamba Monster and the Tekin RX8 have more power though. The Tekin is insane but it doesnt get the greatest run times. It deff has all the power you will ever need though. The Castle system seems to be a great middle point. I know they are more powerfull and faster top speed than the Novaks and they seen to have about the same run time on the same batteries. Razorburn(i think) and I ran SMC 6000mah lipos and after a 20 min run our batteries were still at 7.6 Volts. They stop push the truck at about 6.8 volts. I think the electrics are gonna be on the rise. The power and runtimes are pretty hard to beat!!!!!!
