also give a big round of applause to RPM racing products for their awesome donation of a check for 400.00. it goes to so that raisin money for a good cause goes along ways. RPM is located on the west coast but the big man himself president and owner of rpm took it upon himself to make sure his company helped us raise and amazing amount of money.

Re: Race for a Cure
I want to thank everyone that came out to test drive the Air Meet track located at the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport. It's important that we get feedback and identify the trouble spots now so we have time to adjust before the bigger race in September. I want to thank Ryan, John, Ron and everyone else involved in this race. It looks like everone had fun and you helped raise over $1800 for a great cause. Those in attendence also had the chance to meet Sonny Brown the Team Horizon Surface Manager. Sonny is here to workshop with me for a couple days and to observe the race Sunday. He was most pleased to see good competitive racing but more importantly everyone simply having fun. This is the spirit of the upcoming Air Meet and this first step leads us in that direction. Please send along all you feedback so were able to host a great event in September. If you've not checked it out yet let me suggest you visit www.usairmeet.com to get some idea of what we have planned. We're looking to host another practice race toward the end of August so you can all get some time on the completed track. Thanks again for your support and please register for the September race ASAP........................Ray

Re: Race for a Cure
For everyone's info........
The airport manager was in attendance Sunday. He walked around and checked things out. He also stopped by the site this morning.
He was VERY impressed with both the racers and how everyone was having "fun" and those that were running the event. As far as his walk around this morning.........he made the comment that "had he not attended Sunday, he wouldn't have known anyone was there"!
Great effort and job by all. Once we get the bugs worked out and mother nature ends this drought so we can get moisture into the track, things will be looking really sweet indeed
Plans now are to include the 5th scale in August. Still a work in progress with a definite for the September meet.
We will give notice as soon as we have "for sure" info in place. If it were me, i would keep that weekend in August circled on my calendar

Race for a Cure
I want to thank all the racers that turned out for the event! It was far from perfect, but we all made the best of it. We made close to $2000.00 for the Jimmy Fund!!!! From what I hear alot of refinements will be made to the track sightlines and layout. The drivers stand used yesterday was a very temporary thing. Thank you all for being accomadating and patient with it. A much LARGER stand is in the works. Thanks go out to Rick Sheppard for getting all the donations. Mike K for pizza drinks and organizing the registrations and being the contact for the Jimmy fund.Pablo for running the race, under the circumstances he did a great job. And Uncle Ron for putting his heart and soul into this.Without him it doesn't happen. Thanks to Ray for the track and the help of the crew at Ray and Robins. Thanks to Heath at Maximus for the great gifts and support. Also thanks to Sean at Evolution Hobbies for the gifts and cancelling his Sunday race so we could have ours. Thanks to the club members @ CCR for their work and the airplane clubs for coming out and working the track. And last but not least the 1/5th scale guys they worked the track and at the last minute told they couldn't race. The reasons not to race are legit but it still stinks to not race. It'll all get worked out and look forward to seeing the big rigs take the track. Let's hope we see a cure for this horrible disease in our lifetime. Until then I will do everything I can to help find a cure.
Thanks
John Boucher
Thanks

Re: Race for a Cure
Here it is guys. Yesterday we had 47 registered racers who ran 73 entries. great turnout for the first try with this huge new track.
Before going to the bank this morning, I double counted our donation and am happy to announce we raised $1,829.00. Super job by all involved.
